I’m currently in Morocco attending the Marrakech Film Festival. This is the perfect opportunity to flex my creative muscles. I’m also getting the chance to see some of my favourite actors in action.
Alaya F is a stage name for the Alaya Ebrahim Furniturewala. She is the granddaughter of actors Kabir and Protima Bedi.
She attended the New York Film Academy and has a diploma in acting. Her upcoming project is a crime thriller starring Kartik Aaryan and Karan Mehta, and she will soon be seen in an Anurag Kashyap directed film.
She has also been cast in a Kabir Khan directed film. This isn’t her first foray into Bollywood, having appeared in Saif Ali Khan’s Aashiqui 3. She’ll also be making an appearance in an untitled project for director Kabir Khan, which is currently being shot in Chandigarh.
Alaya F is also a cousin of Bollywood’s newest heartthrob Farhan Ebrahim Furniturewala, and she’s also a cousin of Farhan’s ex-wife, Pooja Bedi.
She’s been making the rounds at various awards shows lately, but her recent ‘Freddy’ set-up is the first time she’s actually been on set. She says her character in ‘Freddy’ is the best of the lot, and I have to admit, I’m a sucker for a good cop movie.
The movie is a thriller, but it’s not entirely predictable. It’s got a lot of twists and turns, and will be sure to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The most interesting thing about the movie is how much mystery the lead character Dr. Freddy Ginwala (Kartik Aaryan) has about him, especially once he’s got a girl in tow. As a dentist by day, Freddy is a bit of a social misfit, and has a lot of layers to his character.
But at night, Freddy is a killer. I’m assuming this is the same character who will be the focus of Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming biopic Sam Bahadur. This is a promising film. The best part is that the movie will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, which should ensure fans get a fair shake.
It’s been two years since Alaya F’s debut film, Jawaani Jaaneman, was released. During that time, she’s been teasing fans with teasers for her upcoming film ‘Freddy’, which will star Kartik Aaryan and Karan Mehta. Hopefully, she’ll be able to deliver the goods in this one.
She’ll also be seen in the upcoming Anurag Kashyap directed flick ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’, and the untitled next for director Kabir Khan.
Alaya F has a lot to look forward to in her acting career, and I can’t wait to see her take on Freddy’s many facets. Hopefully, she can make her mark on the Bollywood landscape with her performance. Alaya F is a talented young actress and I’m sure she’ll be a star in the making.
