Daljeet Kaur Dies at Kasba Sudhaar Bazaar, Ludhiana

Known for her work in movies, Daljeet Kaur has passed away on Thursday, November 17 at the age of 69 at her cousin’s home in the village of Sudhar, Ludhiana. She was a leading Punjabi actress and acted in several hit Punjabi movies. Daljit Kaur is known for her roles in films like Putt Jattan De, Mamla Gaddal Hai and Patola. She is also famous for her role in national level hockey.

Daljeet Kaur started her career as an actor in 1976. She got her acting training at the National School of Film and Drama, Pune. Her debut film was Daaj, and she went on to work in several other films. She then took a break from acting after her husband Harminder Singh Deol died in a car accident. After his death, she returned to acting but never went back to acting full time. Daljeet Kaur had a long illness and was living with her cousin Harjinder Singh Khangura at his home in Sadhar Bazaar. After she was in a coma for a year, she died at the age of 69.

The actress was born in Siliguri, West Bengal, but grew up in Etiana village of Ludhiana. After finishing school, she moved to Dehli. Her father wished for her to pursue a career in medicine. Daljit Kaur was a popular face in Punjabi film industry, and she made the Punjabi audience love her. Her acting skills were highly praised by Bollywood film producers.

Kaur starred in at least 10 Hindi films and also worked in several Punjabi movies. She also played lead roles in several Punjabi superhits. She acted in films like Putt Jattan De, Sing Vis Kaur, Mamla Gaddal Hai and Patola. She also played the role of the mother of Gippy Grewal’s character in Singh VS Kaur (2013). She has played many other roles in various Punjabi and Hindi films. Daljeet Kaur also represented her country in kabaddi. She has no children.

Kaur started her acting career in the 1970s and went on to act in several Punjabi and Hindi films. She also acted in a short film directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She starred in several hit Punjabi movies, such as Sarpanch, Ki Banu Duniyya Da, Mamla Gaddal Hia, Jeene Nahi Dunga, Saida Jogan and Ek Aur Ek Gyarah. She was paired with Dharmendra in the latter.

Daljit Kaur had a long illness and suffered from dementia for years. She could barely recall any of her past memories. She fought this disease for years, but she died on Thursday morning. Daljeet Kaur was also suffering from severe physical pain during her last few weeks. She breathed her last at the Kasba Sudhaar Bazaar in Ludhiana. Her death comes after a series of serious health problems, including a brain tumor. It is the sudden demise of a legendary actress that has left a big hole in the Punjabi film industry. She is survived by her three sisters.

Daljeet Kaur’s family hailed from Etiana village of Ludhiana. Her father was a businessman and she grew up in the village.
