‘Wonder Women’ is a film about six pregnant women who come together under one roof to learn about their fears and hopes. The film is directed by Anjali Menon and has a stellar star cast. Besides Nithya Menen, the film features Parvathy Thiruvothu, Nazriya Nazim, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Nadiya Moidu and Amruta Subhash.
In the trailer, we see the pregnant women congregating in a prenatal class in a safe and nurturing environment. They are from diverse backgrounds and are from different relationship statuses. The film is co-produced by RSVP Flying Unicorn Entertainment. It also marks the third directorial by Anjali. She wrote the script, dialogues and the screenplay. It was shot by Manesh Madhavan and also has Govind Vasantha composing the music.
Nithya Menen and Anjali Menon have acted together in several films such as ‘Aakasha Gopuram’ (2008), ‘7 O’ Clock’ (2006), ‘Bheemla Nayak’ (2010, also directed by Santosh Rai Pataje), ‘Modern Love Hyderabad’ (2010), ‘Ustad Hotel’ (2012) and ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ (2014). In ‘Modern Love Hyderabad’, Nithya Menen plays the role of a woman with an estranged mother-daughter relationship. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award at the 57th Filmfare Awards South.
Anjali Menon has written the script of ‘Wonder Women’ and directed it. She has worked with Parvathy Thiruvothu in three films. The film marks her return to the director’s chair after four years. She also worked with Nazriya Nazim in the lead.
Besides the film’s lead cast, other actors include Amruta Subhash, Sayanora Philip, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Archana Padmini and Nadiya Moidu.
