Rashami Desai is an Indian actress and dancer. She is best known for her portrayals of grey characters in Indian television. She has won several awards for her work, including two Gold Awards and two Indian Television Academy Awards. Her exemplary performances have earned her a wide fan base.
Rashami Desai began her acting career with Ravan, and later had a double role in Pari Hoon Main. Her biggest breakthrough came in the role of Tapasya Thakur in Uttaran, which she played from 2009 to 2014. She has also appeared in music videos. Her last television role was in the 15th season of the reality show Bigg Boss. She became a familiar face on Indian TV through Uttaran.
Rashami’s parents were school teachers, but she wanted a career in the entertainment industry. As a child, she was not very good at school and often received poor grades. Rashami Desai is a trained Bharatanatyam and kathak dancer. She also likes to listen to Indian classical music. She was born Divya Desai, but she adopted the new name Rashami in 2008. Her producers said that her original name Divya was not working in her favor. Her mother then finalized the name Rashami after consulting a numerologist.
Rashami is a Hindu and belongs to a Gujarati family. Her parents’ names are Ajay and Rasila. She married her Uttaran co-star Nandish Sandhu in 2012, but they later separated. She was rumoured to be dating diamond merchant Arhaan Khan.
